Dr. Dimitrios Schoinianakis received his diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department, University of Patras, Greece, in 2005 and his Ph.D. from the same department in 2013.

Since 2008, in parallel with his Ph.D. studies, he is employed in Nokia and in 2014 he was assigned as a Product Line Manager in Nokia/Munich with focus on Microwave Radio technology. In 2015 he joined NOKIA Bell Labs as a Senior Security Researcher.

Gery Verwimp joined BICS in 2012. He started his career in 1995 at Siemens’ telecommunications division in Belgium, as developer of telecommunications protocols and contributor to standardization organisations (ITU, ETSI, IETF). Various other positions in business development and technical sales followed. At the start of the Nokia Siemens Networks joint venture, in 2007, he changed role to become global solution sales manager of the signalling product line, which he continued till 2012.

He then joined Bics, where he held roles as international planner for signalling and roaming products, domain coach and senior network expert. Since 2016 he is principal architect for Bics’ telecommunications solutions, primarily focussing on the 4G and 5G generation of products and services.

MICHELE MOSCA is co-founder of the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo, a Professor in the Department of Combinatorics & Optimization of the Faculty of Mathematics, and a founding member of Waterloo's Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. He was the founding Director of CryptoWorks21, a training program in quantum-safe cryptography. He co-founded the ETSI-IQC workshop series in Quantum-Safe Cryptography. He co-founded evolutionQ Inc. to support organizations as they evolve their quantum-vulnerable systems to quantum-safe ones and softwareQ Inc. to provide quantum software tools and services.

He obtained his doctorate in Mathematics in 1999 from Oxford on the topic of Quantum Computer Algorithms, an MSc in Mathematics and the Foundations of Computer Science in 1996 from Oxford. In 1995 he earned a BMath in Combinatorics & Optimization and Pure Mathematics from Waterloo. His research interests include quantum computation and cryptographic tools designed to be safe against quantum technologies.

He is globally recognized for his drive to help academia, industry and government prepare our cyber systems to be safe in an era with quantum computers. Dr. Mosca’s awards and honours include Fellow of the Institute for Combinatorics and its Applications (since 2000), 2010 Canada's Top 40 Under 40, Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal (2013), SJU Fr. Norm Choate Lifetime Achievement Award (2017), and a Knighthood (Cavaliere) in the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (2018).

Patricia Díez Muñoz

Patricia Díez Muñoz has been working in Telecommunications sector for more than 24 years and in Telco security, at Telefónica, for more than 13 years. Her current position as Global Security Director for Networks & Systems poses a challenge in this ever-evolving ecosystem. Her main responsibilities include the development of security guidelines for the deployment of fixed and mobile networks and BSS/OSS platforms, security tests on implementations, participation in the different standardization bodies and collaborating with ENISA, the European Cybersecurity agency on different workstreams (5G security certification, AI security, Managed Services security), securing the services offered to our clients, supporting the rest of global areas, both internal and business, developing internal security normative based on internal, national and international security standards and security requirements for the different technologies/domains. The last two years, she has been focusing on studying AI systems (ML, DL, Gen AI) and their security implications for all network and systems domains

In his current capacity at Microsoft, Pramod spearheads Telco Security Architecture, playing a pivotal role in its global adoption. His contributions extend to architecting secure next-generation networks on a global scale. Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Pramod actively engages with the broader community, sharing his insights as a regular speaker at major conferences, industry events, and as a guest lecturer at universities.
